In 2024, Fine Work Kenya Limited was contracted to upgrade the core life safety and fire defense infrastructure at the prestigious Muthaiga Country Club, situated along Muthaiga Road in Nairobi. As an iconic heritage venue featuring extensive dining facilities, guest accommodations, and recreational areas, the club required modern, reliable fire safety systems integrated seamlessly into its established architectural footprint.
Fine Work Kenya Limited delivered end-to-end engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning of dedicated fire hose reel systems alongside an intelligent fire alarm detection system to protect club members, guests, staff, and historical property assets.

The Challenge

Historic and high-traffic hospitality properties present complex fire safety challenges: large indoor and outdoor footprints, mixed-use zones, and the need to preserve structural aesthetics while installing modern conduit, cabling, and pipework. The primary objective was to ensure early smoke and heat detection across key operational areas while equipping staff with immediate, reliable first-response firefighting capability.

The Solution

Fine Work Kenya Limited designed and installed a comprehensive, two-tier fire defense solution:

• Fire Alarm & Early Detection Systems: Deployed continuous smoke and heat detection sensors linked to a central control panel to ensure rapid notification, zoned visual alerts, and instant emergency signaling across the property.
• Fire Hose Reel Systems: Installed robust, code-compliant manual fire hose reel stations fed by dedicated water supply pipework, placing immediate manual firefighting capability within easy reach of trained personnel.
• Testing & Commissioning: Performed thorough hydraulic flow/pressure testing and alarm panel verification to guarantee zero-fail operation during an emergency.

The Outcome

Fine Work Kenya Limited successfully completed the installation on schedule, delivering a modern, fully compliant fire protection network. The project strengthened Muthaiga Country Club’s emergency response readiness, safeguarding its members, operational staff, and irreplaceable historical assets.
